1. On the invitation of Prime Minister Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani, the leaders of Pakistan’s political parties met in Islamabad on September 29, 2011 to consider issues relating to national security
2. The conference was briefed by Foreign Minister Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar and Director General ISI, Lt. Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha on the security environment of the country and the regional situation.
3. After in-depth deliberations, leaders of all political parties unanimously resolved, as follows.
i. As a peace-loving country, Pakistan desires to establish and maintain friendly and cordial relations with all countries of the world on the basis of sovereign equality, mutual interest and respect.
ii. All Parties Conference recognized that there has to be a new direction and policy with a focus on peace and reconciliation. “Give peace a chance” must be the guiding central principle henceforth.
iii. Pakistan must initiate dialogue with a view to negotiating peace with our own people in the tribal areas and a proper mechanism for this be put in place.
iv. We need to further enhance our brotherly bilateral relations with Afghanistan at three levels on priority basis: government to government, institution to institution and people to people.
v. The APC recognized the sacrifices of the people and the Security Forces of Pakistan, especially the people of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and tribal areas. The international community needs to recognize these tremendous sacrifices as well as the colossal magnitude of destruction in Pakistan.
vi. Pakistan can enhance its self-reliance comprehensively. Trade, not aid, should clearly be the way forward. We should also focus on internal economic and tax reforms as well as resource mobilization and the curbing of corruption.
vii. Defence of Pakistan’s sovereignty and its territorial integrity is a sacred duty which shall never be compromised.
viii. National interests are supreme and shall guide Pakistan’s policy and response to all challenges at all times.
ix. Pakistan shall continue to endeavor to promote stability and peace at the regional and global planes, in accordance with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and international law.
x. All earlier unanimous resolutions of the Parliament, the recommendation of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on National Security must be implemented.
xi. APC rejected the recent assertions and baseless allegations made against Pakistan. Such assertions are without substance and derogatory to a partnership approach.
xii. The Pakistani nation affirms its full solidarity and support for the armed forces of Pakistan in defeating any threat to national security.
xiii. A Parliamentary Committee be formed to oversee the implementation of earlier resolutions as well as this Resolution and progress on the same be made public on monthly basis. pr

APC. resolution is a sign of peace towards the world, hummanity needs love and peace.
APC.resolution is a sign of peace towards the world.I am proud of it because the hummanity needs this type of resolutions.God bless us.
At least its a step in the right direction.. should have done this ages ago.. hope it materializes though
This is a good step but now the time is of implemention of the resolution . Implemention will satify us otherwise we have to hope for the best !!!
The APC resolution provided new direction to the foreign policy specially the talks with militants in tribal area for peace. This is also the indication that now Pakistan is willing to come out of this war gradually and do not want to open new fronts.
Imran Khan played an active role in the resolution and finally succeed waht he is saying for many years.
Action on the recommendations will determine the success/failure of APC
It was a good initiative by the PM and lets appreciate and look it positively. anyway its your choice to see "a glass half empety or half full". the actual output will depend on implementing it in its true letter and sprit. Everybody knows in this fast communication age no country or even no person can survive in an isolated envoronment especially in the emerging boarderless world. hope for the best
Amreeka going down :p
I believe something is better than nothing atleast something has been said from APC platform and atleast all politicians are sitting on one table, even this is a big thing. Secondly america too is also changing statement and are desperate to contiune relations at any cost. I donot think america afford yo do any war against pakistan.
Were the accusations of America discussed or any effort made to ascertain whether the Haqqani network and Quetta Shura were using Pakistani territory to attack and kill people in Afghanistan ? When there is a specific charge made should it not be discussed and countered with logic and reason ? When an issue X is causing trouble, what is the purpose of fooling the world and discussing A, B or C ? Will these shenanigans improve the Worldview of Pakistan or will they come to the conclusion the country is beyond repair, is the moot question. Who will want to give Aid when the recipient believes "I am fine, the World is sick" ?
1) as far as the US relationship is concern, there was nothing discussed about it as mentioned above.
2) We have not sent any strong message to the US officials neither we called off the any US ambassador for a strong reaction.
3) We have big communication gaps in our own institutions/politicians approach.
4) Our priorities are not our country's interests, neither its been defined in the APC.
5) We have not even talked about our foreign policies in the APC.
6) We do not have any practical plans for Internal & external threats
7) We do not have any practical policies for Internal & External Issues/relationships.
I don't understand why these issues had not been addressed ever.
It’s a good sign that Pakistan's military and political leaderships are appraising each others on security situation. I hope politicians like Munawar Hassan of JI and Imran Khan will stop their fake jingoistic statements and will think rationally and speak responsibly.
Good Beginning and nice of PM to get everyone to dinner tables. However the proposed understandings have no implementation components and no resources assigned to do even a single actionable item because none exists. Hence waste of an opportunity.
Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: "God helps those who help themselves". So, We need our accountability. APC result is subject to the implimentation only.
Time pass conference, only......nothing will be resolved only they went for "Show Time" and for "Grand Lunch" while innocent poor Pakistanis are dieing for only "Roti". Shame on these so called politician....this is time some one open piosonious gas and get rid of these sanacks.
civil & military leaders do not openly profess their loyalty to America is that they are afraid of people in Pakistan. Whenever their deceit becomes public they rush to criticize America with velvet gloves, whilst in private they support US against Pakistán "And when they meet those who believe, they say: 'We believe' when they are alone with their shayatin, they say: we are with you;" sever diplomatic ties with governments of US & UK Seal their embassies & expel their diplomatic and non-diplomatic staff from Pakistan. Bolivia & Venezuela can drive out US for interference in their domestic affairs, then it should be much easier for nuclear power. Withdraw all types of military assistance to the American crusaders. Deny them access to Pakistan military bases, airspace and waterways. Additionally, banish US military and intelligence personnel from Pakistan soil and cease intelligence cooperation with them. Cut all supply lines to NATO and the US war machine. Where appropriate seize their military assets & defend Pakistan frontiers. Leave the door open for the sincere Muslims of FATA and Baluchistan to swell your ranks Pakistan remove the imperialist border that divides the Muslims and thereby unify Afghanistan and Pakistan into a single entity.
The APC was convened for the expressed purpose of point "xi". The rest of the points are basic tenets of any nation. Only now PAK came to consensus on these matters?
This reminds me of the draft resolutions we use to come up with at Lumun when we were 17 years old! epic fail.. lol
i thing apc is better for pakistan.pakistan zindabad
All is well that ends well.
This seams to be nice end and at the same time a new beginning....
GOD HELP ALL OF US ON THIS WAY...
Only point No 2, has some meaning, the rest are all useless phrases
"ii. All Parties Conference recognized that there has to be a new direction and policy with a focus on peace and reconciliation. “Give peace a chance” must be the guiding central principle henceforth."
Translation : Give peace a chance means, please do not bomb. Please give us a little more time and we will change our policy and actions towards Haqannis. We have got the message and please trust us we will change direction. Just give us some time.
Finally accomplished something.....
Finally. Its time for implementation. IA soon there will be peace if this is implemented right away.
Here comes another lollypop from our civil and military leadership.
Despite the fact that being a weak nation, we could not dare to utter a single word "America" in the resolution, the security issue and related problems in Balochistan with respect to foreign involvement has been completely missed in this resolution.
what was served for dinner ?
If America violates Pakistan's sovereignty, that would be the last nail in the coffin. Their economy is already crippled, they cannot afford another war. Death to America.
I read the text couple of times.Looked like empty words with no substance. If someone found any nuggets of wisdom please let me know.
Where in the name of all that's HOLY... is the stoppage of logistics to US and ISAF if they plan to target North West Frontiers...???
So Now every thing is now hunky n dorry ???
What a comprehensive briefing it was by Sir Lt. Gen. Shuja Pasha. And thanks to Imran Khan for such a draft.
In my opinion. This was a useless outcome of the meeting. Nothing new. Everything that was expected. And I'm sure they won't even be able to implement a quarter of the resolutions they've summed up today!
