Pakistan calls for UN action on Palestine

Pakistan has called for the full and good-faith implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the New York Declaration to protect Palestinian territorial integrity and ensure a viable path to statehood, Radio Pakistan reported on Sunday.

Speaking at a meeting of the UN General Assembly's Second Committee in New York, Pakistan Mission to the UN Second Secretary Muhammad Faheem said the scale of devastation in Gaza was staggering.

He said ceasefire violations continued, with more than 1,400 Palestinians having been martyred.

Faheem stressed that the ceasefire must be fully upheld.
