Israeli occupiers on Friday attacked Palestinian olive pickers north of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank, assaulting farmers and setting three vehicles on fire, local sources said.

The sources told Anadolu that a group of occupiers attacked Palestinians harvesting olives in the town of Turmus Ayya and physically assaulted several farmers.

The occupiers also torched three Palestinian vehicles and attacked the outskirts of the town, the sources added.

On Monday, the Palestinian Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission said it had documented 136 attacks linked to the olive harvest season carried out by Israeli forces and occupiers since the beginning of October.

According to the commission, the incidents included beatings, expulsions, intimidation, gunfire, tear gas, and arrests.

They also included theft of olives and harvesting equipment and damage to trees, causing losses to farmers and restricting their access to agricultural land.

Attacks by Israeli forces and occupiers against Palestinians and their property across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have intensified since the start of Israel’s genocide on Gaza in October 2023.

On Wednesday, a Palestinian woman was killed and two people, including a girl, were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential building in Gaza City early Wednesday, sources said.

A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital told Anadolu that the body of Reem Asaad Awad, 33, and two injured people were brought to the hospital following the airstrike on a residential building in the Rimal neighbourhood.

The source said the strike caused extensive destruction to the targeted apartment and neighbouring buildings. A large fire also broke out after the attack and was later extinguished by civil defence crews.

Meanwhile, witnesses said Israeli military vehicles and quadcopter drones opened heavy fire toward Palestinian homes in the Tuffah neighbourhood, northeast of Gaza City, while explosive devices were dropped on Al-Sikka Street in the surrounding area.

Separately, sources said the Israeli army carried out a large-scale demolition operation, blowing up homes within areas where its forces are deployed east of Gaza City.
