Hilary Swank announces third pregnancy at 52 with husband Philip Schneider

Hilary Swank is expecting her third child with husband Philip Schneider, three years after the couple welcomed twins Aya and Ohm.

The actress, 52, announced the pregnancy in an Instagram video shared on October 14. In the clip, Swank, Schneider and their twins dance in the dark with glow sticks attached to their bodies. Swank then appears with a baby bump decorated with a tiny glow stick to represent the newest member of the family.

“A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December,” she wrote, hinting at the pregnancy and an expected winter arrival.

Swank became a mother for the first time in April 2023, when she and Schneider welcomed twins Aya and Ohm.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Swank discussed motherhood while advocating for California bill AB 1901, which calls for greater transparency around diaper ingredients. She said she was fortunate to spend time with her children.

Swank has reflected on becoming a parent later in life. She said the timing allowed her to be present with her children, while her established acting career gave her flexibility to step in and out of work.

The actress has said she wanted children earlier, but circumstances did not make it possible. She believes she might have been a different parent had she started a family in her twenties or thirties.

Swank has also credited personal growth with helping her approach parenting. She said working on herself helped her recognise patterns she did not want to pass on to her children.

The star, known for Million Dollar Baby and the series Yellowjackets, has said her children remind her to stay present. Her announcement suggests the family is preparing to welcome another baby in December, although she has not shared details about the pregnancy.
