‘Baywatch’ reboot trailer brings back beach rescues and slow-motion runs
‘Baywatch’ reboot trailer features Stephen Amell, Megan Thee Stallion, beach rescues and stunts ahead of January debut

Fox has released the first trailer for its Baywatch reboot, offering a preview of beach rescues, dramatic stunts and slow-motion runs ahead of the series premiere in January.
The three-minute trailer opens with Stephen Amell leading a rescue mission after a plane collides with a parasail. Amell stars as Hobie Buchannon, the son of original series character Mitch Buchannon, who has grown up to become a Baywatch captain.
The new series follows Hobie as his life changes with the unexpected arrival of Charlie, played by Jessica Belkin, the daughter he never knew he had. Charlie hopes to continue the family legacy by training to become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her father.
The reboot also stars Shay Mitchell, Brooks Nader, Hassie Harrison, Livvy Dunne, Noah Beck, David Chokachi and Thaddeus LaGrone. Megan Thee Stallion also appears in the trailer, while Ashley Moore, Luke Eisner, Nadia Gray, Kylar Miranda and Charlie McElveen feature in recurring roles.
Fox ordered 12 episodes of the Baywatch reboot for the 2026-2027 broadcast season in September 2025. Casting calls took place in early 2026, and production began in Los Angeles in the spring.
The original Baywatch premiered in 1989 and became an international television hit, airing in more than 200 countries. David Hasselhoff starred as Mitch Buchannon, while the series helped raise the profiles of Pamela Anderson, Jason Momoa, Yasmine Bleeth and Carmen Electra.
The franchise previously expanded with the spin-off Baywatch Nights and a 2017 film starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
Matt Nix serves as showrunner and executive producer on the new series. McG, who directed the premiere episode, is also an executive producer alongside Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. Fox Entertainment and Fremantle are co-producing the reboot.
