Rebel Wilson is facing fresh allegations in the ongoing legal dispute surrounding her film The Deb, with producers accusing the actress and director of misleading the court and mishandling evidence.

Lawyers representing producer Amanda Ghost and her fellow producers filed a motion seeking terminating sanctions in their defamation lawsuit against Wilson. The filing alleges that Wilson gave false testimony under oath and manipulated or manufactured evidence during the proceedings.

The producers claim the alleged conduct has undermined their ability to prepare their case and obtain a fair trial. Their legal team also accused Wilson of destroying evidence they consider crucial to the dispute.

Wilson’s lawyer, Allyson Thompson, rejected the allegations, describing the latest filing as another attempt to damage her client’s reputation. Thompson said the case remained heavily contested and that a robust response opposing the motion was being prepared.

The dispute began in 2024, when producers associated with The Deb sued Wilson for defamation after she made allegations concerning the film’s finances and claims involving its star, Charlotte MacInnes.

MacInnes has separately accused Wilson of defamation over statements made online. However, a judge ruled in Wilson’s favour in that case earlier in 2026, according to the report.

The controversy also involves an incident in 2023, when Ghost and MacInnes took a bath together after swimming at Bondi Beach in Sydney. MacInnes said she willingly entered the bath while wearing a bathing suit to warm up after experiencing an adverse reaction to cold seawater. Wilson later suggested online that MacInnes had been uncomfortable during the incident.

Ghost’s legal team has challenged Wilson’s conduct during the current litigation, while Wilson’s representatives maintain that the latest accusations are an attempt to vilify her.

A trial in Los Angeles is scheduled for January 2027. The allegations in the latest filing remain disputed, and the court has not been reported to have made a final determination on the producers’ claims of misconduct.
