Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban are reportedly growing closer following their respective separations from Ben Affleck and Nicole Kidman, although neither has publicly confirmed a romantic relationship.

According to RadarOnline, the singer and actress and the country musician have been “in touch a lot” and have allegedly met privately.

A source told the outlet that the pair trust one another and feel comfortable discussing personal matters.

Lopez and Urban developed a friendship while working together as judges on American Idol in 2014. At the time, Urban was married to Kidman, while Lopez was dating her former backup dancer, Casper Smart.

A source claimed their on-screen connection attracted attention during their time on the programme. “It was open knowledge and plainly obvious to people on set,” the insider said, adding that the pair did not act on their connection because they were both in committed relationships.

With both now reportedly single, the source suggested that their friendship could develop further. However, no relationship has been confirmed.

The report also claimed that Lopez is looking for a partner who shares her passion for music and can relate to her professional ambitions. Urban was described by the source as someone who could understand her career while being comfortable with her success.

The latest speculation follows a September 2026 report by Woman's Day, in which a source alleged that Kidman had noticed the chemistry between Urban and Lopez during American Idol.

“Keith's always adored Jen – loved working with her, loves her talent and thinks she's ridiculously gorgeous,” the source told the publication. “She was the only one who got Nicole's hackles up because their chemistry was off the charts.”

The report alleged that Urban might be interested in pursuing a relationship with Lopez partly to provoke Kidman, although this claim remains unverified.
