Mia Goth’s representative has denied that the actress is active on Instagram after a viral post appeared to reference her split from Shia LaBeouf shortly after she filed for divorce.

The post, shared by a fan account on October 8, featured a photograph of Goth wearing a shirt bearing the words “My ex is my biggest fan”. A lipstick kiss emoji accompanied the image, prompting speculation that it was connected to the couple’s separation.

However, Goth’s representative subsequently clarified that the actress does not use social media. “Mia Goth is not active on any social media accounts, including Instagram,” the representative said in a statement to Just Jared. The representative also told Us Weekly that Goth had never engaged with social media and would not do so.

The clarification came two days after Goth filed for divorce from LaBeouf in Los Angeles on October 6. According to the filing, she cited irreconcilable differences and listed July 28, 2025, as their date of separation.

Goth is requesting primary legal and physical custody of the couple’s four year old daughter, Isabel. She has also asked to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to either party. The filing states that the extent of their separate and shared assets and debts remains unknown.

Goth and LaBeouf met while working on Nymphomaniac: Vol II in 2012 and married in Las Vegas in October 2016. They separated in 2018 before reconciling in 2020. Their daughter’s birth was publicly confirmed by LaBeouf in 2022.

That year, LaBeouf spoke warmly about Goth and their family during an interview on the Real Ones with Jon Bernthal podcast, crediting her support during a difficult period in his life.

The divorce follows reports that the couple had separated in 2025. LaBeouf has also faced legal controversies, including assault charges in February 2026.

Neither the viral post nor its caption should be treated as a statement from Goth, given her representative’s clarification about her social media presence.
