Charlie Cox backs ‘Save Daredevil’ campaign after Disney+ cancels ‘Born Again’

The series is set to conclude with its third season, which has already wrapped and is scheduled for 2027

Charlie Cox has given fans of Daredevil fresh reason to rally behind their campaign to save the Marvel series after Disney+ confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will end with its third season.

The actor, who plays blind lawyer and vigilante Matt Murdock, addressed the campaign during a panel with his co stars at NEW YORK COMIC CON while discussing the show’s upcoming final chapter.

When the moderator mentioned the series’ planned conclusion, Cox jokingly responded, “Wait, what?”, prompting disappointed fans to boo. He then acknowledged the supporters campaigning to keep the character’s television story alive.

“All I’ll say is, I imagine the ‘Save Daredevil’ campaign will be gearing up for round two,” Cox said, adding that the cast did not want to invite the campaigners’ wrath.

His comments offered an encouraging moment for viewers who remain unhappy about the decision to end the series. However, Cox did not announce a reversal or confirm that another season was being planned.

The fan movement has a history with the character. The original Daredevil series was cancelled by Netflix after three seasons in 2018, prompting supporters to launch the “Save Daredevil” campaign. The character later returned in Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, with Cox reprising his role.

The current series is scheduled to conclude after its third season, which has already finished filming and is expected to premiere in 2027.

The cast also includes Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye.

The third season is also expected to feature a reunion of the Defenders, with Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter and Finn Jones returning as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Danny Rand, respectively.
