Xbox has reportedly secured exclusive cloud streaming rights for GTA 6 at launch, although a clarification from Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball has confirmed the game will not be available for PC streaming when it releases.
The Verge reported that Xbox would be the exclusive platform for streaming GTA 6 through the cloud. Xbox's cloud streaming service is available across devices including PCs, smart TVs and mobile devices.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma reportedly told employees during a recent town hall that the company was planning something related to GTA 6 that "no other platform holder is doing."
The reported deal is expected to begin when GTA 6 launches in November, although its duration remains unclear.
An initial report suggested the arrangement could allow PC players to access GTA 6 through cloud streaming rather than waiting for a native PC release.
However, Ball later clarified the situation on social media, stating: "While the excitement for GTA VI and Xbox is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting," Ball states.
"We are looking forward to launching GTA VI on Xbox November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC."
