Dolly Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, is facing allegations involving threats against people connected to the late singer’s estate, with court filings detailing claims about his conduct.
Seaver, who had worked as Parton’s head of security, was removed from the role after a dispute with her longtime manager, Danny Nozell.
Reports later alleged that Seaver had made threats and attempted to seek money from Parton’s estate.
Court documents filed in Tennessee allege that Seaver’s communications with Nozell “was to cause fear and chaos to extort money for his personal gain.”
The filing also refers to an email Seaver allegedly sent to an entertainment attorney on September 3, in which he claimed to have sold $27 million worth of ammunition to Haitian police.
“I’m literally an international arms dealer and mercenary,” Seaver allegedly said.
The legal filing also accuses Seaver of making a “threat of continuing retaliation” and quotes him as saying, “I am vengeance for my people for the next 50 years. I have no debt. I only own swords and guns.”
Parton’s estate entity, She’s Alive, LLC, claimed Seaver “sought to extract money from SAL and Dolly Parton’s trusts through an obscene, deliberate and escalating campaign of threats.”
Seaver has rejected the temporary restraining order, calling it “Spurious, and simply a publicity stunt,” according to ABC News.
Meanwhile, Parton’s sister Freida defended Seaver, writing, “We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other.”
