Remand extended in foreigner rape case
A court on Monday extended the physical remand of two suspects by four days in a rape case lodged by a foreign woman.
Cantt Court Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood accepted a police official's request for further physical remand but denied an eight-day extension as sought and granted custody for four more days.
The police produced the suspects Mohsin and Zain before the court after completion of their six-day remand.
The court was informed that a substantial part of the investigation had been completed.
However, investigators said they needed to recover the suspects' mobile phones and conduct tests.
The police requested physical remand of the suspects for an additional eight days to complete these investigative procedures.
After hearing the arguments, the court granted four days of physical remand.
