RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi deputy commissioner has revealed plans to transform the Pirwadhai bus stand into a state-of-the-art facility with modern amenities to generate higher revenue.

The project was discussed during a meeting with a delegation of traders, led by Anjuman-e-Tajran Rawalpindi President Abdul Ghafoor Paracha, which met with the deputy commissioner Nadeem Nasir.

The meeting involved a detailed discussion on key urban issues, including traffic and parking problems in the city, the Pirwadhai Bus Stand, Raja Model Bazaar, the Raja Bazaar parking plaza, operating hours for loading vehicles and concerns regarding sewerage and rainwater drainage.

With regards to Parwadhai bus stand, the deputy commissioner stated that the bus stand is a large facility spanning approximately 280 kanals; however, the government is not generating revenue commensurate with its capacity.
