Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s former fiancé, Ken Urker, was found dead at his Louisiana home after authorities were told he had threatened suicide and had access to a gun.

According to law enforcement records obtained by TMZ, deputies went to Urker’s Raceland residence on Thursday evening for a welfare check after family members said he was not answering his phone or reporting to work.

A caller told dispatchers that Urker had threatened to take his own life, owned a gun and was in a “dark place”. Another caller later told authorities that Urker had killed himself and asked police to check on him.

Gypsy Rose’s brother, Dylan, eventually entered the home through a bedroom window and found Urker unconscious and cold to the touch on his bed. Deputies reportedly found a holstered handgun on a nightstand next to a syringe and two shot glasses.

Authorities also reported finding drug paraphernalia and a brown powdery substance in the bathroom. However, the report did not state that the gun had been fired or that it was used in Urker’s death.

Urker was found dead on his birthday, according to previous reports. Gypsy Rose had reportedly texted him a birthday message but did not receive a response before her brother discovered him.

Urker and Gypsy Rose Blanchard first connected through a prison pen pal programme and became engaged in 2018. They later separated before reconnecting years later. The pair welcomed their daughter, Aurora, together.

An investigation into Ken Urker’s death remains ongoing, and authorities have not publicly confirmed the official cause of death.
