Pedro Pascal teases 'Avengers: Doomsday' with first hint at his character’s dialogue
Pedro Pascal reveals the challenges of learning cello for Behemoth! and shares a line from 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Pedro Pascal has described learning to play the cello for his upcoming film Behemoth! as the most difficult challenge of his acting career, revealing that he began lessons before the project was officially secured.
In an interview with Variety published on October 23, Pascal said he started preparing after meeting filmmaker Tony Gilroy in July 2025 to discuss the lead role. He trained with cellists Timothy Loo and Charlie Tyler before filming began in Los Angeles in October, continuing lessons during breaks and weekends throughout production.
Pascal plays Alex Serian, a talented cellist who returns to Los Angeles after spending 20 years on the road. Written and directed by Gilroy, the Searchlight Pictures film explores the character’s life through music and his difficulty expressing himself in relationships.
The actor described the cello work as an intense challenge, explaining that coordinating bowing, fingering, positioning and vibrato requires years of practice. Despite the difficulties, he called Behemoth! his favourite filmmaking experience and said he missed the character and the people involved in the production.
The film premiered as the centrepiece selection of the New York Film Festival on October 2 and is scheduled to open in cinemas on December 4.
During the interview, Pascal also offered advice to aspiring actors, emphasising perseverance, authenticity and the importance of remaining true to themselves. He acknowledged that success in Hollywood involves facing rejection and difficult experiences while appreciating the support of others.
Pascal also shared a brief line from his upcoming Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday, saying his character would deliver the words, “It’s good to see you again.” He additionally discussed De Noche, his anticipated collaboration with director Todd Haynes, describing the project as personally meaningful.
Known for The Mandalorian, The Last of Us and Game of Thrones, Pascal continues to expand his film career with several major projects.
