Lil Wayne appears to confirm his engagement to 23-year-old Madi Cannon after previously denying reports

Lil Wayne appears to have confirmed his engagement to 23-year-old Madi Cannon days after celebrating his 44th birthday.

The rapper shared the announcement while celebrating fellow Hot Boy B.G.’s engagement to longtime girlfriend Brooke Jones during a Cash Money-No Limit Records arena tour stop in New Orleans.

In a FaceTime call with B.G., Wayne congratulated his fellow rapper before turning the camera towards Cannon.

“I’m marrying this one,” he told B.G. “This is Madison.”

Cannon, who was standing behind Wayne, responded, “Congratulations.” Wayne then put his arm around her and appeared to confirm their relationship status, saying, “This is my fiancée. And congratulations. Let us know what color we’re wearing. I’m the best man you hear me? Love you b-tch.”

B.G. later acknowledged Wayne’s message of support in an Instagram post, writing, “My lil Brodie gave me his blessings @liltunechi.”

The apparent engagement comes after Wayne previously denied that he was engaged to Cannon. During a July livestream, the rapper addressed reports about their relationship and said they had separated.

“I would like to clear something up,” Wayne said. “No, I’m not engaged. I had a beautiful thing going on with an amazing person, but, obviously, due to the validity of the temperature of today’s crazy world and culture, I considered, I don’t want to be such a burden on such an amazing person. So, we decided to part. Sucks.”

Wayne was previously married to Antonia “Toya” Johnson. They welcomed their daughter, Reginae Carter, in 1998 and married in 2004 before divorcing in 2006.

The rapper is also the father of three other children: Dwyane, Kameron and Neal. He is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the near future.
