Dolly Parton manager accuses nephew Bryan Seaver of extortion threats

Dolly Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, has asked a court for a temporary restraining order against the late singer’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, alleging threats and intimidation.

According to the supplied report, Nozell filed the case on Tuesday, September 22, through the entity She’s Alive, LLC.

The filing seeks to prevent Seaver from interfering with Parton’s business or contacting its business partners. It also asks that he be required to stay 1,000 feet away from the company’s offices.

Seaver previously ran security at Parton’s properties for more than two decades. Nozell alleges that Seaver referred to his work as a military contractor, access to weapons and capacity for violence while pressuring him to provide money.

The filing reportedly includes messages attributed to Seaver, including: “I'm not an entertainment person. I'm a killer,” and “All I do is warfare ... everyone needs to be worried about what I might do.”

It also quotes an alleged message in which Seaver threatened to discuss the dispute publicly: “I'm going to set up a podcast dedicated to ruining Dolly's brand partnership and telling the violations these people have done on us.”

Seaver reportedly confirmed his military and security background while rejecting the description of his comments as threats. “I am a career soldier and military contractor and do conduct arms deals for foreign governments. I am a security professional and I am a killer... However, nothing in this lawsuit were threats and most of the comments I stand by.”

Seaver is the son of Parton’s sister, Cassie Parton, and announced the singer’s death on August 25. He said at the time, “Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus.”

Nozell alleges the intimidation began weeks before Parton’s death and continued afterwards. Seaver was terminated on September 15, with a new security team taking over several Parton properties.

The dispute concerns the DP Dean Trust, which holds Parton’s properties and business interests. Seaver’s beneficiary interest in the trust remains intact.
