“Oh, Jesus. I mean, it’s such a great part,” Pattinson said, before praising Keoghan. He recalled enjoying working with the actor and said he would rather see Keoghan continue as the Joker.
Pattinson currently plays Bruce Wayne and Batman in Reeves’ The Batman franchise. The first film ended with a brief encounter between Keoghan’s Joker and Paul Dano’s Riddler, while an extended scene released after the film showed Batman visiting the Joker in Arkham Asylum.
It remains unclear whether Keoghan will return as the Joker in The Batman: Part II. The sequel has been in production since June 2026 and is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on February 18, 2028.
Pattinson is confirmed to reprise his role as Batman, alongside Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. Scarlett Johansson is also part of the cast in an undisclosed role.
Meanwhile, Primetime has brought Pattinson renewed attention for his portrayal of Hansen, while the actor continues to balance projects outside the DC franchise. His comments make clear that, despite the Joker speculation, he is not currently seeking to replace Keoghan in the role.
