Noah Kahan appears to tease his 'Sunrise on the Reaping' song with new clip

Noah Kahan may have just given fans their first glimpse of his long-rumoured song for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

The singer-songwriter shared a short video on his TikTok account, @thelastofthebugs, featuring a meadow filled with dandelions while haunting, ethereal music plays in the background. Fans quickly began speculating that the clip could be the first snippet of his contribution to the upcoming Hunger Games soundtrack.

The dandelions have added fuel to the theory. The flower is a recurring symbol throughout Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games series, particularly in relation to Katniss Everdeen and themes of resilience, rebirth and hope.

Kahan has been linked to the Sunrise on the Reaping soundtrack for months, with reports previously suggesting he was in talks to contribute to the film. The musician also appeared to tease the project during the 2026 Emmys earlier this month.

During an interview at the ceremony, Kahan was asked about his interest in creating music for films or soundtracks. He confirmed that he had recently been given an opportunity to do so, but declined to reveal further details.

“We actually just had the opportunity to do so, which I'm really excited about,” Kahan said, adding that he had “something in the works”.

He had already fuelled speculation days earlier by sharing another cryptic video through the same TikTok account, featuring a sunrise and the caption, “the birds sound louder than the bugs tonight”. Fans interpreted the reference to birds as a possible nod to The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, the previous Hunger Games prequel.

Sunrise on the Reaping, based on Collins’ 2025 novel, is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 20, 2026. While Kahan has not officially confirmed that he is contributing to the soundtrack, his increasingly frequent hints have led fans to believe an announcement could be approaching.
