Lady Gaga welcomes first baby as daughter’s reported name sparks fan interest

Lady Gaga and her fiancé Michael Polansky have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Rose Bean Polansky, according to sources cited by PEOPLE.

The couple’s daughter was recently born, with PEOPLE confirming on Sept. 11 that Gaga and Polansky had become parents. Sources have since revealed the baby’s name and said it has a special connection to Gaga’s music and career.

The name Rose is reportedly inspired by "La Vie En Rose", the song Gaga performed in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. Gaga also has a rose tattoo on her spine featuring the words "la vie en rose".

According to a source, Rose’s middle name, Bean, may be a tribute to activist Carl Bean, who inspired Gaga’s song "Born This Way". Representatives for Gaga and Polansky have not publicly confirmed their daughter’s name or sex.

Gaga, 40, and Polansky, 42, have reportedly been enjoying time with their newborn away from the public spotlight. A source previously told PEOPLE that Gaga had wanted to become a mother and was ready to slow down after completing her tour in April.

The couple have been together since 2020 and became engaged in 2024. Polansky, an entrepreneur and Harvard University graduate, also worked with Gaga on her 2025 album Mayhem, co-producing the record and co-writing several songs.

Gaga has spoken publicly about wanting children for several years. In a 2019 interview with YouTube personality NikkieTutorials, she said having children was part of her plans for the future.
