Ed Sheeran tour chaos deepens as fans demand refunds following Macklemore exit

Macklemore pledged his $1m tour earnings to Palestinian aid as Sheeran and Kraft committed $2m each

Ed Sheeran fans are calling for concert refunds after Macklemore was removed from the LOOP TOUR following his pro Palestinian remarks at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The fallout has since escalated, with every remaining supporting act leaving the tour in solidarity with Macklemore.

Fans have taken to social media to question whether they should receive their money back after buying tickets when Macklemore was still listed as part of the lineup. Some have directly asked Ticketmaster about cancellation options, while others have urged fellow ticket holders to resell their tickets or skip the concerts altogether.

Macklemore was removed after performances at MetLife Stadium on September 4 and 5, where he voiced support for Palestinians and said "Free Palestine". Sheeran later said the decision was made by the promoter after venues indicated that upcoming concerts could be cancelled if Macklemore remained involved.

The situation intensified when Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Beoga withdrew from the remaining dates. Their departures left Sheeran without his scheduled supporting acts for upcoming performances.

Macklemore has since pledged his $1m net earnings from the tour to six organisations supporting Palestinians and challenged Robert Kraft to match his donation. Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium, said Ed Sheeran had already contacted him and asked him to commit $2m towards humanitarian aid in the region. Kraft then confirmed the $2m commitment, while Sheeran is also committing $2m.

The donations have added another major development to the dispute, even as Kraft continues to defend the decision to bar Macklemore from Gillette Stadium. Kraft cited Macklemore's recent remarks and what he described as a broader history of antisemitic rhetoric and imagery, while Macklemore has rejected those accusations.

Sheeran has maintained that removing Macklemore was not his decision and said he wanted to protect fans, crew members and other musicians working on the tour. The LOOP TOUR still has 10 North American shows scheduled, leaving the controversy unfolding as the next concerts approach.
