Woman stabs husband to death
A man was allegedly killed and his three minor daughters seriously injured in a knife attack following a domestic dispute in Chak 126-GB near Pull Shehra Awanah, police said.
Police and local sources said the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of City Police Station after a heated argument between labourer Khalid and his wife, Gulshan Bibi.
The couple had reportedly been facing financial difficulties and domestic tensions, which had frequently led to arguments.
Sources said Khalid had married Gulshan Bibi about 12 years ago and they had three daughters.
The couple reportedly had another heated argument on the night of the incident, after which Khalid went to sleep.
Police said Gulshan allegedly picked up a knife from the kitchen during the night and attacked her sleeping husband, seriously injuring him.
When the children attempted to intervene, she allegedly attacked the three daughters as well.
The injured girls were identified as 11-year-old Aneeka, eight-year-old Anaya and four-year-old Aiza.
Neighbours and local residents gathered at the scene after hearing screams and alerted Rescue 1122 and police. Rescue personnel provided first aid to Khalid and his daughters before shifting them to hospital. However, Khalid succumbed to his injuries while being taken to hospital, according to police.
City Police Station SHO Muzaffar Khokhar, along with a police team, reached the scene and arrested Gulshan Bibi, allegedly recovering the weapon used in the attack, police said.
A murder and attempted murder case was registered against Gulshan Bibi on the complaint of the deceased's brother, Abid Ali.
Police said further investigation was under way.
The incident caused concern and grief in the village and surrounding areas, with residents expressing shock over the death and the injuries sustained by the three children.
