Adults season 2 scores major 40% viewership boost over first season

FX comedy series Adults has recorded significant growth with its second season, with viewership increasing 40% compared with its first season.
According to Disney, Adults season 2 saw a 40% rise in viewership after 12 days of viewing across Hulu and Disney+ globally. The increase includes audiences both in the United States and internationally, with international viewership doubling, rising 100% compared with season 1.
The first season of Adults has also benefited from renewed interest in the series. Its streaming viewership increased 50% following the release of the standalone prequel episode "Marathon Day" on July 31, roughly a month before the second season premiered.
The comedy has also received stronger critical reception in its second season. Its Rotten Tomatoes score rose from 77% following season 1 to 100%, reflecting the positive response to the latest episodes.
Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, Adults follows five twenty-something friends living together in New York as they navigate relationships, careers, friendship and family. The ensemble includes Malik Elassal as Samir, Lucy Freyer as Billie, Jack Innanen as Paul Baker, Amita Rao as Issa and Owen Thiele as Anton.
The series has gained attention for its ensemble chemistry, with the second season earning praise for allowing its characters and relationships to develop further.
Kronengold and Shaw executive produce the series alongside Nick Kroll, Sarah Naftalis, Jonathan Krisel, Alicia Van Couvering and Rob Rosell. FX Productions serves as the studio.
The growth gives Adults a stronger position as FX continues its comedy lineup, while the substantial increase in international viewership highlights the show's expanding global audience on Hulu and Disney+.
