Is 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' getting a Season 4? Everything known so far after Season 3 finale

The Walking Dead: Dead City has not yet been renewed for Season 4 by AMC following the conclusion of its third season on September 13.

The AMC spin-off, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan and Lauren Cohan as Maggie, ended its third season with the episode “Tenebrae”.

The finale saw Maggie and Negan fighting walkers while attempting to rescue members of their community, including Luis.

AMC has not announced whether Dead City will return for a fourth season. However, members of the creative team have already discussed potential directions for the series.

Cohan, who also serves as an executive producer, said there are several ideas being considered for another season. “We have a lot of ideas that are outside the box for another season,” she told People.

Cohan also suggested that Maggie’s story still has considerable potential, describing the possibilities as “endless” provided the writing remains strong and the characters continue to develop.

Showrunner Seth Hoffman has also discussed potential plans for Season 4, including further connections between Dead City and the wider Walking Dead universe.

AMC Chief Content Officer Scott Gimple has separately addressed the future of the franchise, saying there will be “more” series while indicating that releases could become slower.

He also said he is actively planning and hoping for a fourth season of Dead City.

For now, AMC has yet to officially confirm Season 4, leaving the future of Maggie and Negan’s story unresolved after the Season 3 finale.
