Khanewal tops Punjab literacy ranking
Speakers note Pakistan ranks near top of the table on illiteracy.
District Khanewal has secured the first position across Punjab in ranking released by the Punjab Literacy Department.
According to a statement, focus had been ensured on promoting literacy, reducing dropout rates, ensuring 100 per cent enrollment of children in schools and providing essential facilities at educational centres across the district.
Continuous monitoring of field staff, guidance to teachers and measures aimed at improving educational activities strengthened the district's performance. Speaking on the occasion, District Education Officer (Literacy) Fozia Hameed appreciated the efforts of all staff members and said that the achievement was the result of collective hard work.
