7 arrested after firing on police
Police arrested seven armed suspects after they allegedly opened fire on a police team near the M-3 Industrial Estate, while 14 suspects were booked under terrorism and other charges.
According to police, the suspects attempted to enter the restricted industrial zone in three vehicles. When security staff stopped them, they fled and fired at the police near Chak 155-JB Panwan.
Bullets hit an official vehicle, but no personnel were injured.
The police seized rifles and ammunition from the arrested suspects, while the others escaped.
A case was registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act and relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, and an investigation was under way.
