Six held in call centre fraud case
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested six suspects during a raid on a call centre near NIPA Chowrangi for allegedly defrauding foreign nationals.
The NCCIA conducted the raid in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 6, near NIPA Chowrangi, and arrested six people, including the alleged owners and operators of the call centre.
According to the NCCIA, the suspects posed as officials of foreign banks and allegedly defrauded citizens by obtaining their personal and financial information.
They also allegedly obtained debit and credit card details through fraudulent means and used the information for illegal and fraudulent activities.
The arrested suspects were identified as Bilal, Taha Manzoor, Muaz bin Sami, Cyrus Zakaria, Tayyab Mushtaq and Talha Khan. During the raid, the agency seized several laptops, mobile phones and other electronic devices.
