Wells Adams has shared how he and his wife, Sarah Hyland, keep their four-year marriage romantic, particularly while spending time apart.

The Bachelor in Paradise alum, 42, discussed his relationship with Hyland, 35, during an appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast on September 8. Adams said the couple are both naturally romantic and make an effort to maintain their connection through small gestures.

Because they are frequently apart, Adams said he and the Modern Family actress leave hidden notes for each other. He described the gesture as one of the simple ways they show affection and stay connected.

Adams also said cooking is his “love language” and one of his preferred ways of being romantic with Hyland. Before one of her recent trips, he prepared a special dinner featuring a bottle of wine made by his brother, candles and music.

The TV personality also made Hyland’s favourite skirt steak tacos, a dish that has added significance for the couple because it connects to their first date.

Adams and Hyland first connected after the actress publicly expressed her interest in him during JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette. They began dating soon afterwards, with Adams proposing in July 2019.

The couple postponed their wedding because of the COVID-19 pandemic before eventually getting married in August 2022.

Adams recently marked their fourth wedding anniversary on Instagram with a collection of photos and a message celebrating their relationship. He said his feelings for Hyland had remained unchanged since they first began dating.

The couple have continued to share glimpses of their relationship publicly while maintaining a balance between their careers and personal life.
