Belmont Cameli and NHL star Macklin Celebrini have opened up about fame, hockey, career pressure and handling public attention in a new interview.

The Off Campus actor and San Jose Sharks centre spoke for The Hollywood Reporter and Sportico's "Game Recognize Game" series, discussing the similarities between portraying a hockey player and competing professionally in the NHL.

Cameli, 28, plays college hockey star Garrett Graham in Prime Video's Off Campus, which is currently filming its second season in Vancouver. The actor previously appeared in the Saved by the Bell reboot and the horror film Until Dawn.

Celebrini, 20, has already established himself as one of hockey's biggest young stars. He won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics and recently signed a five-year, $94 million contract extension with the Sharks.

The pair also discussed a potential Off Campus cameo for Celebrini. The NHL player recalled being surprised that his proposed filming schedule was between midnight and 3am. Cameli explained that actors can face long and unpredictable shooting days, joking that unlike hockey players, actors are not being hit at full speed.

Both also spoke about the pressure that comes with growing fame. Celebrini said athletes have to tune out the many opinions surrounding their performances, while Cameli discussed the increased scrutiny actors face over both their work and personal lives.

Cameli said the attention surrounding Off Campus has brought a different level of fandom, particularly through the internet. Celebrini similarly described meeting young fans at the rink as rewarding, while acknowledging that some interactions can become uncomfortable.

The conversation also touched on Celebrini's Olympic defeat to the United States, his training routine and how he manages expectations following his major contract.
