KARACHI:

The family of a 16-year-old boy, who was shot dead by robbers during a house robbery in Manghopir, staged a protest outside the local police station on Wednesday, demanding the immediate arrest of the killers.

The victim's father, Roidad Khan, said his family would continue the sit-in until justice was served, adding that the arrest of his son's killers was their only demand.

Rosham, son of Roidad Khan, was killed during a robbery at his home in Mehran City on the night between Monday and Tuesday. According to his father, armed men cut through an iron grille and entered the house before opening fire.

Roidad said he was inside one of the rooms when the robbers kicked at the door. When he refused to open it, they opened fire. "After hearing the gunshots, my son came out of another room and the robbers shot him," he said, adding that he managed to escape through a window while the suspects continued firing at his room. The victim's father claimed that one of the robbers was wearing a police uniform. He said it was later discovered that the man was not a police officer but one of the robbers.
