Owen Wilson shares his kids’ favourite role from his Hollywood career

Owen Wilson has revealed which of his many film roles has become a favourite among his three children.

During an exclusive interview with E! News, the 57-year-old actor said his children particularly enjoy his character Jedediah in Night at the Museum. Wilson played the Old West figurine in the 2006 comedy alongside Ben Stiller and Robin Williams.

“My kids kind of liked my little character Jedediah,” Wilson said, reflecting on the role.

The actor also spoke about another family favourite from 2006, Cars, in which he voiced Lightning McQueen. Wilson said he recently found himself thinking about the animated film and was surprised that it has been 20 years since its release.

Wilson is the father of three children: son Robert, 15, with Jade Duell; son Finn, 12, with Caroline Lindqvist; and daughter Lyla, 7, with Varunie Vongsvirates.

Reflecting on how quickly his children have grown, Wilson joked that he now understands why parents often comment on how quickly time passes. He also recalled a quote from his high school yearbook and said he now feels he has “earned that quote” after his years in Hollywood.

The actor has worked across several genres throughout his career and said he hopes there is something in his filmography for everyone.

Wilson is currently promoting his upcoming action thriller Runner, in which he stars alongside Alan Ritchson. The film follows two men attempting to deliver a life-saving organ to a young patient while keeping it away from black-market dealers.

Runner is scheduled to premiere in theatres nationwide on September 11.
