‘SNL UK’ adds ‘Big Boys’ star Freddie Meredith to season 2 cast
'SNL UK' adds comedian and Big Boys actor Freddie Meredith to its season 2 cast ahead of the September premiere

Saturday Night Live UK has added comedian and actor Freddie Meredith to the cast of its upcoming second season.
Meredith, known for his roles in Big Boys and Such Brave Girls, will join the ensemble ahead of the show's season 2 premiere on Sky. He recently made his Edinburgh Fringe debut with his comedy show Need a Light?, which received a Best Newcomer Award nomination.
The actor and comedian said joining SNL UK was a “no brainer” and described the programme as “the most iconic comedy show”. He added that the experience would influence his career and said he was looking forward to joining the cast.
Meredith joins a season 2 ensemble that includes Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young.
Saturday Night Live UK season 2 will premiere on Sky on September 12, with actor Jeff Goldblum hosting the first episode and CMAT serving as the musical guest. Five additional episodes are scheduled to air weekly through October 24, before the series takes a midseason break. The show is expected to return in early 2027.
Season 1 featured hosts including Tina Fey, Hannah Waddingham and Nicola Coughlan.
The British version of the long-running US sketch comedy show is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK production team and Broadway Video, with SNL creator Lorne Michaels serving as an executive producer.
Sky has also indicated that SNL UK could continue beyond its second season, with Sky unscripted chief Phil Edgar-Jones saying the broadcaster is committed to the programme for the long term.
