Nina Dobrev has found herself at the centre of an unexpected Venice Film Festival controversy after footage appeared to show officials asking her to move along while she was posing for photographers.

The actress attended the opening night of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival on September 2 for the world premiere of Danny Boyle's Ink. Dobrev arrived on the red carpet in a striking Armani Privé gown and was posing for photographers when a man in a dark suit approached her and appeared to signal that she should move forward. Footage of the exchange later spread rapidly online.

Dobrev initially appeared to continue posing despite the interruption. She was then approached by another festival official before moving along the carpet.
