Sandra Bullock has teased the possibility of a third Practical Magic film, suggesting that the beloved witchy franchise could continue beyond the upcoming sequel.

Bullock is set to return as Sally Owens alongside Nicole Kidman’s Gillian Owens in Practical Magic 2, nearly three decades after the original 1998 film. Now, the actress has indicated that another instalment could potentially follow.

Speaking about the future of the franchise, Bullock expressed interest in passing the story on to a younger generation.

“I think there could be a third one,” Bullock said, according to Deadline. She also suggested that she would like to “pass the torch” as the series continues.

The possibility of Practical Magic 3 comes as anticipation builds for Practical Magic 2, which reunites Bullock and Kidman as the Owens sisters. The original film, directed by Griffin Dunne, became a cult favourite after its 1998 release and has maintained a dedicated following over the years.

The sequel brings Bullock and Kidman back to their iconic roles, continuing the story of the Owens family and its generations of witches. The return of the pair has already generated significant excitement among fans who have waited almost 30 years for another chapter.

Bullock’s comments do not amount to an official confirmation that Practical Magic 3 is in development, but they indicate that she is open to the idea of extending the franchise.

The actress has previously spoken warmly about returning to the world of Practical Magic, while the sequel itself is expected to explore the next generation of the Owens family.

With Practical Magic 2 bringing Sally and Gillian back together, Bullock’s suggestion of passing the torch could point towards a future story that places younger characters at the centre of the franchise.

For now, however, fans will have to wait for Practical Magic 2 before finding out whether the return of the Owens sisters could ultimately lead to another spellbinding sequel.
