Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will launch on April 8, 2027, with Square Enix showing new gameplay and open-world features during PlayStation’s September State of Play.

Square Enix has confirmed the Final Fantasy 7 Revelation release date, with the third and final entry in the remake trilogy launching on April 8, 2027.

The announcement came during PlayStation’s September 3 State of Play, which concluded with a new release date trailer before an extended gameplay presentation offered a closer look at the upcoming RPG.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will continue the story of Cloud and his allies as they face Sephiroth, following 2024’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The latest footage focused heavily on exploration and the game’s open-world design.

Cloud and his party will be able to travel across the world using an airship before seamlessly transitioning to ground exploration. Chocobos will return as a means of transportation, with players also able to engage in combat while mounted.

The gameplay footage also showed a grapple hook that allows characters to reach rooftops and move between buildings.

Square Enix provided further details about the new FITS system, which gives party members different roles depending on their outfits. The four available roles are Warrior, Knight, Black Mage and Summoner.

Vincent was shown using the Summoner role, allowing him to perform powerful synergies with summoned entities.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is scheduled to release on April 8, 2027, more than three years after Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The game will conclude Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy.
