Kit Connor and Diana Silvers to star in new Preppy Killer film

Kit Connor and Diana Silvers are set to star in PRƎPPY, a new true-crime film inspired by the infamous Preppy Killer case. The film will be directed by Janicza Bravo for STX Entertainment and Aggregate Films.

Connor, who recently joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming X-Men film as Cyclops, will appear opposite Silvers in the project. PRƎPPY is based on an original screenplay by David Levine and Rose Lichter-Marck.

The film will explore the events surrounding the 1986 murder of Jennifer Levin, a recent high school graduate who was killed by Robert Chambers in New York’s Central Park. Chambers, a former Manhattan private-school student, became known as the “Preppy Killer” following the case.

The crime attracted widespread attention and sparked discussions surrounding privilege, social class and sex. PRƎPPY will revisit the case and the events leading up to Levin’s murder.

Bravo will direct and also serve as a producer on the film. Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and John Buderwitz will produce for Aggregate Films, while Peter Coleman and Paula Manzanedo will produce for STX Entertainment.

Connor is best known for starring as Nick Nelson in the Netflix series Heartstopper. His upcoming projects also include Andrew Haigh’s A Long Winter and Alex Garland’s adaptation of the Elden Ring video game.

Silvers previously appeared in Booksmart, Ma and Netflix’s Space Force. She recently completed work on Asymmetry, directed by Ed Zwick.

Bravo previously directed Zola and Lemon and earned a DGA Award nomination for her work on FX’s The Bear. Further details about the production and release date for PRƎPPY have not yet been announced.
