Alex Cooper’s 'Love Overboard' canceled by Hulu after one season

Alex Cooper’s reality dating show Love Overboard has been canceled by Hulu after one season.

The nine-episode series premiered on Hulu in March and was hosted by Bachelorette alum Gabby Windey. Cooper served as an executive producer on the reality dating show, which followed 22 singles as they lived aboard a luxury yacht while looking for romance.

According to Page Six, which first reported the cancellation, the show was pulled by Disney following low viewership. The cancellation means Love Overboard will not return for a second season.

The decision comes as Cooper’s wider Unwell business continues to expand across entertainment and other ventures. Unwell Productions has announced several new television and film projects with Hulu since June, with more productions currently in development.

Among those projects is the scripted drama You Deserve To Know, which is set to star former The Vampire Diaries co-stars Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley.

The cancellation also follows news that Unwell Beverage Co. is winding down production less than two years after its products first reached shelves. The company is expected to produce a final batch of seasonal flavours before closing the beverage operation.

Despite the end of Love Overboard, Cooper’s relationship with Hulu remains active through her production company’s upcoming projects.

The broader Unwell business has also continued to attract investment. The company recently secured an investment that reportedly valued the business at around $500 million.

While Love Overboard will not return to Hulu, Cooper continues to develop projects through Unwell Productions, including scripted and unscripted content for the streaming platform.
