KARACHI:

The Sindh Save Lawyers Committee has postponed its protest rally and sit-in planned in front of the Sindh Assembly.

Committee leader Aqib Rajpar said a new date for the rally and sit-in would be announced soon. He reiterated the committee's demands, stating: "Division of Sindh's land is unacceptable, and the decision on administrative units is also unacceptable.

Sindh was one, is one, and will remain one." Rajpar further demanded the immediate withdrawal of the adjournment motion tabled in the Assembly.

The committee had earlier announced a rally from Sindh High Court Media Chowk to the Sindh Assembly, followed by a sit-in outside the Assembly against the adjournment motion.

In anticipation of the protest, police and the administration blocked roads around the Sindh Assembly and adjoining highways by placing containers and deploying a heavy contingent of personnel. The road closures led to severe traffic congestion in the area, causing significant inconvenience to the public. Traffic was diverted to alternative routes.
