CD Projekt Red is collaborating with modder HalkHogan to bring work from the popular HD Reworked Project directly into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered.
HalkHogan, the creator of The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project, confirmed on August 26 that he has been working with CDPR on the upcoming remaster. The updated version is scheduled to launch on September 29 for PC and consoles.
The HD Reworked Project has spent years upgrading The Witcher 3’s visuals, including textures and models across characters, creatures, equipment and environments.
With the remaster, players will not need to install the mod separately to access the incorporated work.
“I am cooperating with CDPR on the Witcher 3 Remaster and my work will be officially available in the game on September 29th,” HalkHogan said. He added that HDRP “will no longer be needed.”
According to the modder, the work included reworking almost every character in the game, as well as monsters, animals, vegetation, armour and equipment for Geralt and Roach. He also said a “large part” of the game’s environments had been updated.
“I’ve put a lot of effort into ensuring the highest quality,” he added.
HalkHogan had previously been developing another major HD Reworked Project update planned for 2026.
Earlier this year, he outlined plans to improve characters, armour and equipment while introducing additional environmental details, including wind simulation for objects that had previously remained static.
The collaboration also continues an existing relationship between CDPR and HalkHogan. His HD Reworked Project was among the community-created modifications incorporated into The Witcher 3’s next-generation update.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is set to launch on September 29, with HalkHogan’s updated work included across PC and console versions.
