HoYoverse has revealed Nodus Fall, a new co-op action game that marks a departure from the studio’s established anime RPGs.

The game was unveiled during Gamescom ONL 2026, with its first trailer showcasing a darker fantasy world and combat-focused gameplay.

The studio is best known for games including Genshin Impact, but Nodus Fall appears to move into a different genre.

Its trailer features large-scale monsters, fantasy creatures, imposing armour and oversized weapons, with imagery that draws comparisons to games such as Elden Ring and Monster Hunter.

The trailer also introduces elements of the game’s lore. According to the material shown, the gods are gone, while Weavers use divine power to “sunder the dread Nodus”.

Among the creatures shown are giant trolls working at enormous anvils, winged tigers capable of summoning lightning, dragons and a dark angel with rot-covered wings.

Over the past year, the company has also announced Petit Planet, a cosy farming simulation game, and Varsapura, which appears to take inspiration from open-world crime games.

The studio did not provide further details about Nodus Fall during Gamescom ONL 2026.
