Ryan Gosling is taking on 'The Flintstones' in a wild new reboot

Ryan Gosling is adding another major franchise project to his growing slate, with the actor and producer developing a live-action Flintstones movie at Warner Bros.

Gosling and producing partner Jessie Henderson are reportedly in the early stages of developing the project, which would offer a new take on the classic animated franchise. The story is expected to focus on an adult Bamm-Bamm Rubble, the son of Barney and Betty Rubble. The team is currently looking for a writer, while details about the plot and production timeline remain limited.

It is not yet confirmed whether Gosling will appear in the Flintstones reboot or remain behind the scenes as a producer. The project would be developed through his production company, Open Invite.

The live-action Flintstones movie adds another high-profile title to Gosling’s already packed schedule. The three-time Oscar nominee recently starred as Ken in Barbie and is set to lead Project Hail Mary, the upcoming science-fiction adaptation of Andy Weir’s bestselling novel.

Gosling is also preparing to enter the Star Wars universe with Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 28, 2027, and features a cast that includes Aaron Pierre, Amy Adams, Mia Goth and Matt Smith.

Gosling and Levy are also set to reunite for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Ghost Rider movie, further expanding the actor’s involvement in major Hollywood franchises.

While details about the Flintstones reboot are still scarce, the combination of Gosling, Warner Bros. and the beloved animated property has already made the project one to watch.
