Netflix confirms 'Black Mirror' season 8 is officially in production

Netflix has confirmed that Black Mirror season 8 is officially in production, marking the return of Charlie Brooker’s acclaimed dystopian anthology series.

The new season began filming this summer, although Netflix has not yet announced a release date.

Brooker is returning as writer and executive producer for Black Mirror season 8 alongside Bisha K. Ali. Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones and Louise Sutton will also executive produce, with Mark Kinsella serving as co-executive producer. The upcoming instalment follows Brooker’s earlier promise that the series would return with an even stronger dose of its signature unsettling storytelling.

Alongside the Black Mirror renewal, Netflix has announced second seasons for Legends and Being Gordon Ramsay. Production on the second season of Being Gordon Ramsay is already underway, with the reality series expected to return in 2027. The new episodes will follow Ramsay as he balances his restaurants, expanding business empire and family life.

Meanwhile, Legends season 2 will consist of six episodes and is scheduled to begin production next year. Created by Neil Forsyth, the drama follows undercover customs officers as they tackle a growing drugs threat in Britain during the late 1990s.

Netflix has also confirmed the return of several other popular U.K. titles, including Supacell, Black Doves and House of Guinness. Supacell season 2 has completed filming and is targeting a 2027 release, while Black Doves season 2 is expected later this year.

The streamer’s renewed lineup also includes unscripted favourites such as Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Love Is Blind U.K., At Home with the Furys and The Rest is Football.
