'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' closes in on 'Titanic' in global box office top five list

'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' earns $109m globally in its fourth weekend, moving closer to 'Titanic’s' box office total

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is closing in on Titanic’s position among the five highest-grossing films at the global box office after another strong weekend in cinemas.

The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, earned $39 million domestically and $109 million worldwide during its fourth weekend, according to box office tracker Rentrak. It remained No. 1 on both domestic and global box office charts.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now reached $854.9 million in domestic earnings and $2.22 billion worldwide.

The global total leaves it approximately $44 million behind Titanic, which currently occupies fifth place among the highest-grossing films worldwide with $2.264 billion.

Titanic, directed by James Cameron, reached its current total following its original release and subsequent 3D re-release. Cameron also holds the top two positions on the global chart with Avatar at $2.923 billion and Avatar: The Way of Water at $2.334 billion.

Should Spider-Man: Brand New Day continue its current box office performance, it could move ahead of Titanic in the coming week. The film could also potentially challenge Ne Zha 2, which finished its 2025 release with $2.27 billion globally.

Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey remained at No. 2 worldwide, earning $87.5 million in its sixth weekend. Its global total has reached $1.44 billion, making it Nolan’s highest-grossing film.
