CAA, PAA HQs to be shifted to Islamabad
.

The federal government has decided to relocate the headquarters of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) from Karachi to Islamabad.
According to sources, the government has issued directives to construct temporary headquarters at Islamabad International Airport to facilitate the immediate relocation of both organisations.
As part of the administrative arrangements, a seven-member joint committee comprising officers from the PAA and the CAA has been constituted to oversee the process.
PAA Deputy Director General Airports Sadiqur Rehman has been appointed chairman of the committee. The committee will identify a suitable site at Islamabad airport for constructing the temporary headquarters.
Sources said the CAA has been directed to construct its temporary headquarters and complete the relocation by Nov 2026, while the PAA has been given December 2026 as the deadline.
The headquarters of both aviation organisations are currently located in Karachi. The relocation will not affect their regional offices, which will continue to operate across the country.
