Hayden Panettiere’s mother claims ex Brian Hickerson pawned her belongings

Hayden Panettiere’s mother, Lesley Vogel, has claimed that the actress’ former partner Brian Hickerson pawned some of her belongings before her death at the age of 36.

Vogel made the claim in an interview with The New York Times published on Sunday, saying she visited her daughter in Los Angeles last year while Panettiere was struggling with physical pain.

According to Vogel, she was shocked to learn that Hickerson had pawned some of Panettiere’s possessions, including a vintage guitar.

Vogel also claimed that Panettiere was surprised to discover that some of her belongings were being kept in Hickerson’s storage unit. Another source reportedly confirmed that Hickerson had pawned some of the actress’ items.

Hickerson, who filed for bankruptcy in 2022, has not commented on the claims. His attorney, Sloan Ellis, told Page Six that they would not comment beyond a previous statement concerning Panettiere’s death.

"Hayden's death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed," Ellis previously said.

"As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play. Out of respect for Hayden's loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time."

Panettiere and Hickerson began their relationship in 2018. Their relationship was described as tumultuous, with Hickerson having faced multiple arrests related to domestic violence involving the actress. Panettiere also wrote about abuse in her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning.
