Hajj 2027 payments reach Rs58 billion
The government has collected Rs58 billion in Hajj 2027 payments during the first five days of collections under the government scheme, as pilgrims are being offered a fully digital process for registration, package selection and payment of dues.
Around 40% of the total collections have been made online as the Ministry of Religious Affairs lauded it as a major milestone in the country's Hajj digitisation drive.
Under the government scheme, 92,000 applications have so far been received, leaving 15,000 seats available, while the private Hajj scheme also recorded online payments of around Rs15 million on its very first day despite the holiday.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs said Rs58 billion had been received during the first five days of collections under the government Hajj scheme, with around 40% of the payments made online.
