Syrian foreign minister, CDF Munir discuss regional security

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and his delegation called on Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and COAS, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at GHQ in Rawalpindi, the military's media wing said on Friday.
According to the ISPR, during the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence and security cooperation.
"Field Marshal Munir highlighted Pakistan's longstanding fraternal ties with Syria and shared Pakistan's perspective on global peace and regional stability, underscoring the importance of cooperation and collaborative efforts to address common security challenges," the statement said.
ISPR said that the visiting dignitary appreciated the professional role played by the Armed Forces of Pakistan in promoting regional peace and stability.
"Both sides reiterated their resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties and expand engagements in the fields of defence and security," the statement concluded.
Malaysian minister
Minister of Home Affairs of Malaysia, Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, along with the Malaysian Ambassador to Pakistan and a high-level delegation called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at GHQ.
During the meeting, the regional security dynamics and matters of mutual interest were deliberated upon. Both sides reaffirmed the strong and enduring bonds between Pakistan and Malaysia and expressed their resolve to further broaden cooperation and engagement in areas of shared interest, said a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The COAS reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to further deepening defence collaboration and strategic engagement with Malaysia.
Democratic Republic of Congo
Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Friday agreed to deepen bilateral defence and security cooperation, with their military leadership discussing regional security and matters of mutual interest, the military's media wing said.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and a high-level DRC defence delegation headed by Chief of Defence of the Armed Forces of the DRC Lieutenant General Banza Mwilambwe Jules at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), "matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence and security cooperation were discussed".
The two dignitaries also expressed satisfaction over the longstanding cordial relations between Pakistan and the DRC, ISPR said.
The meeting also resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at broadening and strengthening defence and security cooperation between the two countries.
