The Duchess of Sussex could return to acting after moving back to the UK, according to reports that she has been offered a role in an upcoming project.

Sources close to Prince Harry and Meghan have not denied reports that the duchess has been offered an acting role in Britain.

Australian outlet news.com.au first reported that an acting opportunity was among the reasons for the couple’s decision to return to the UK.

No details about the reported role or project have been confirmed. Harry and Meghan are expected to move to a private, non-royal residence outside London before the end of August, with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, due to start school in September.

Meghan previously built an acting career in the US, most notably playing lawyer Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits. She appeared in the series for seven seasons, with her final episode airing in 2018.

She put her acting career on hold following her marriage to Prince Harry. At the time, Meghan told the BBC that she did not see leaving acting as giving something up, describing the change as "a new chapter".

The duchess has recently returned to acting for the first time in almost a decade, appearing as herself in a cameo role in the upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends. The film stars Lily Collins and Brie Larson.

A move back into acting could coincide with Meghan's plans to expand her US-based lifestyle and cooking brand, As Ever, internationally while living in the UK.

Harry and Meghan's planned relocation follows their visit to see King Charles III at Highgrove in Gloucestershire in July.

It was the first time the King had seen his grandchildren in person in more than four years and marked the couple's first joint UK visit since 2022.

There are currently no plans for Harry or Meghan to resume their roles as working royals.
