Who is Bilaal Salaam? Will Smith’s former pal takes legal battle to the next level

Will Smith’s former friend Bilaal Salaam plans to add the actor to his legal battle involving Jada Pinkett Smith

Will Smith’s former friend Bilaal Salaam is planning to take legal action against the actor as his ongoing court dispute with Jada Pinkett Smith continues.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Salaam intends to add Will as a co-defendant in his existing lawsuit against Jada. Salaam alleges that Jada and people associated with her launched a campaign of harassment against him after he declined to help Will deal with the fallout from the 2022 Oscars slap involving Chris Rock.

Salaam also claims that Jada became upset after learning that he was writing a memoir that would discuss Will Smith, Jada and their family.

The legal dispute began with allegations against Jada and her associates. Jada has denied the accusations and previously rejected claims of wrongdoing. A judge dismissed several of Salaam’s claims, but he is now seeking to amend his complaint and potentially bring Will into the case.

The latest development could expand the legal battle involving the Smith family as Salaam seeks to pursue claims against both Will and Jada.

Meanwhile, Jada is seeking payment from Salaam for approximately $32,000 in legal fees that she was awarded. Salaam has told the court that he cannot afford the amount and has requested either a reduction in the fee award or a payment arrangement.

Salaam’s planned legal action against Will has not yet been fully adjudicated, and the allegations remain claims made in court filings. Will Smith’s response to the latest development was not included in the report.

The dispute adds another legal chapter to the public fallout surrounding Will and Jada, whose marriage and personal lives have faced intense scrutiny since the Oscars incident.
