Catherine Zeta-Jones turns assassin hunter in ‘Kill Jackie’ as thriller finally gets streaming date
The eight episode series is based on Nick Harkaway’s novel ‘The Price You Pay’, written under a pseudonym

Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to lead a dangerous new chapter on television as her upcoming thriller series Kill Jackie officially sets its October release date.
The eight episode series will premiere on Prime Video on October 2, 2026, in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Canada. The series will also premiere on AMC+ in the US on the same date, according to Variety.
Zeta-Jones stars as Jackie Price, a former international drug smuggler who has spent two decades creating a quiet and luxurious new life as an art dealer. Her carefully protected identity begins to unravel when she discovers that a group of highly skilled assassins known as the Seven Demons has been hired to kill her.
Faced with the threat, Jackie is forced to return to skills and instincts she had left behind. Her plan is to hunt down the assassins before they reach her, setting up a high stakes revenge story that combines crime, action, drama and dark comedy.
The series is based on The Price You Pay, the 2018 novel by Nick Harkaway, who wrote the book under the pen name Aidan Truhen. The television adaptation changes the central character from the novel, with Zeta-Jones taking on the role of Jackie Price for the screen version.
Kill Jackie comes from the creative team behind acclaimed crime dramas including Killing Eve and Gangs of London. Tom Butterworth serves as writer and showrunner, while Damon Thomas is the lead director. Conor Keane co-wrote the television adaptation, with Peter Lawson also involved as a co-creator and executive producer. Zeta-Jones is among the executive producers alongside Butterworth and Thomas.
The cast gives the series plenty of established names alongside its Oscar winning lead. Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Bill Paterson, Ron Perlman, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw and Raff Law are among the supporting cast. Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Julian Barratt, Gavin Spokes and Jonathan Cake also appear.
The project was originally announced in February 2025, when Fremantle, Steel Springs Pictures and Prime Video revealed Zeta-Jones as the lead. Production began the following month, with the series later wrapping production ahead of its planned 2026 launch.
The streaming arrangement has since expanded beyond Prime Video. AMC Global Media acquired exclusive US streaming rights in July, while Warner Bros Discovery acquired rights for HBO Max across several European territories including Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, France and Belgium.
Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures are co-producing the series, with Fremantle handling international sales outside the US. Production was supervised in Bizkaia, Spain, by Deabru Kalea Filmeak.
The series has already attracted attention through its first look images, which show Zeta-Jones embracing Jackie’s glamorous art dealer identity while preparing for a much darker fight for survival. New images released in August offered a closer look at characters played by Ron Perlman, Óscar Jaenada, Darci Shaw and Daniel Ings.
With its international launch now confirmed for October 2, Kill Jackie marks another major television role for Zeta-Jones following her appearance as Morticia Addams in Wednesday.
